Submitted to REVOLUTION My Day vs My Day (Cant Remember his Mohawk Name) Jesse Gilbert wrote in revolution on November 22 the following line "if the whole purpose of the CKR Process is to negotiate for Kahnawake's jurisdiction over its own affairs" It is this statement I have something to tell your readers about. I have a question for Revolution readers. If CKR negotiates "Kahnawake's jursdiction" why do we then call ourselves Members of the Mohawk Nation. Why do we mention the words "Kahnawake Mohawk Territory" in various organizations. Why do our elected council and chiefs say there from the "Mohawk Nation" if we ourselves have no jurisdiction. Because anyone who has to negotiate something, obviously has nothing. If I am of the Mohawk Nation, part of the Haudenosaunee Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy, why is it that a so called sovereign Nation has to negotiate its own jurisdiction with an opposing government. Doesn't anyone find this odd. Is it not Historical fact we never gave up our rights as a Nation to govern ourselves as a Nation. Is it not fact that we have Peace Treaty with the United States of America. The most powerful nation on earth that is celebrated with by Washington D.C. officials every year. In it not fact that we posess the power, the intelligence and the resources to run our own affairs with or without Canada's permission. Is it not fact that if Canada is on our Nations soil, we should not be negotiating our own jursdiction. Like any Nation on earth that has Jursdiction over its own affairs. None, negotiate its jursdiction with any other Nations unless they are conquered. Nations are Sovereign because they alone govern ther own Territories according to there Rules and Regulations. Nations whom exercise there own jurisdiction wihout negotiations are called Sovereign Nations. Surely, Canada does not have to negotiate its jursdiction with the United States, United Nations or any other Nation on earth. It got its jursdiction by having exercised its own free will upon both Native people and the British they separated from. So why, why, why, why, why are we negotiating anything with Canada. (Money Maybe) The only way we as Kahnawakeronon and Mohawk people will ever enforce our own jursdiction is by "Revolution" Simply by rejecting Canada's efforts to assimilate our people's jursdiction. I mean they assimilated everything else, but this is most important portion in assimilation. The best way to extinguish a Nation is take away its ability to be a sovereign Nation. Thus, have that former "sovereign" Nation(that would be us) negotiate what it can or cannot do within Canada. In turn if the elected officials of the MCK support what the CKR is "supposed to be doing" they support the indirect assimilation of the Mohawk Nation. Fact is this Nation is going to die, and its dying at such a legislated snails pace that were to stupid to realize it. Do as you wish Mohawk people? Do as you wish. My Nation will always be the Kanienkehaka Mohawk Nation, regardless how small, disorganized or poor/rich we may be. Revolution will come, change will come... in the dying of a Nation... Do as you wish but think before you do it? Kahon:wes - http://www.kahonwes.com/ |
