I dont vote in Band Council Elections because of several reasons.

The first reason I dont vote in MCK Elections is because the MCK is a foreign government. Its a government imposed by Canada and the DIAND in order to commit subtle genocide on Native peoples.

The second reason why I dont vote in MCK Elections is because the Mohawk Nation has never ever sanctioned the MCK or any body of the Canadian Government to speak on its behalf. Myself being a citizen of the Mohawk Nation they speak only for the Laws and institutions of Canada.

The third reason I dont vote in MCK elections is treason. In voting in the MCK elections I openly commit an act of treason in endeavouring to destroy the legitimacy if the Haudenosaunee. When we all know full well it was put here to kill us. I think the word people commonly use is hipocrite...

The fourth reason why I dont vote is National pride. I dont vote because I am a Member of the Mohawk Nation not Canadas toy government. I am Mohawk and will do my best to uphold the Laws and constitution even if it were to kill me. Either we fight for our beliefs or we vote them away....

The fifth reason why I dont vote is because I dont believe in Elected Dictatorship. People vote for people and they do what they want and do not speak for the people and there is no control. The Longhouse was designed as an absolute democracy, it may be old but it works. Either we are to stupid, or to lazy to realize, with some work it could very well be one of the best governments in the world...

The sixth reason is, even if I were to vote for someone. Do people think there is anyone worth voting for here. The voting for councilors has always been a popularity contest in this town. No one in the past 20 years would stand a chance in a real election anywhere else in the world. No platforms, no real campaigns, no one even has the balls to tell the community anything.

The seventh reason I dont vote in MCK elections is when our traditional system is gone. You think we are still going to be a Nation after we just tossed out the core of our culture. You think we are still going to be a nation when the basis of our identity no longer exists. I dont think so...

The eighth reason is the people in the MCK claim to represent the Mohawk people. Well how is it an organization forced upon us by the Canadian government to kill us now represents us. How is it a organization funded by Canada, for Canada under Canadian laws is supposed to represent Mohawk People. How is it Mohawk identity, values, culture, laws and ideas are represented in a system based on Canadian Laws. No wonder why were so damn assimilated.....

The ninth reason is simple... If you want your culture to survive its time we send a message to Canada. We dont want your stinken government. We will govern our people our way and continue to mature our own system that has stagnated for so long because of this Genocide machine. We will continue to struggle as a people, as always and if they want us to go away. Well to bad were here to stay. But I'll probably be dead before people realize we have a real identity. We need to get off our lazy asses and use it...

This is why I dont vote and can whine about the MCK all I want. It is a thorn in the side of the Mohawk Nation and until it is clipped and pulled out. We will be slowly sliding towards extinction.
