The Six Nations Women Singers are from the Seneca, Onondaga and Cayuga Nations. These women have participated together in the traditions of the Longhouse religious and social music and dance throughout their lives. They have been singing together for 28 years. They are and arm of a larger organization called the Six Nations Women's Singing Society. As a singing society they participate with other groups in community "sings" that are common among the Six Nations people. These are social occasions, along with food and social dancing. The singing societies serve a specific traditional function as benevolent groups that raise and donate money and offer assistance to the needy of their comminities.

Nya weh (Thank You) to Herbert Buck Jr., the "Old Mush" Singers, and the Woodland Cultural Center for artwork on the cover.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Six Nations Women's Singing Society Donation Fund.
