Rule: Three - s

When the letter T and S combine in Mohawk, you get the ts sound as in the English words below.
grits hits splits

For the ts to be true Mohawk sound for the Ahkwesashne dialect, the letter i must be added before the vowel. The tsi sound at Ahkwesasne is pronounced as a (J) sound. The letter I before the vowels will sound like the English Letter Y
