When the letter T and S
combine in Mohawk, you get the ts
sound as in the English words below.

For the ts
to be true Mohawk sound for the Ahkwesashne dialect, the letter i
must be added before the vowel. The tsi sound at Ahkwesasne is pronounced
as a (J) sound. The letter I before
the vowels will sound like the English Letter Y
