I just got a call about the NY StateDepartment training the NY State troopers in how to blockade roads using a backhoe. The caller believes that the troopers are going to try to block in therez so no one can get in or out. I have no confirmation on this but willtry to find out later today. I bellieve that the troopers are trying toprovoke a violent incident so that they will have an excuse to come inshooting. Also planes have been dropping parachutes in the Allegany woodsnear rte 17. It's beginning to look like they want some action. Our onlystance is to defend ourselves. Cigarette deliveries have been coming in.

Things at Cattaragus Rez pretty stable - most of gas stations closed andpeople from both sides of the fence bitching at each other. A couple ofpropane gas delivery trucks have come in and filled their customers withheating/cooking gas. Very little in local papers, even in Buffalo, andalmost nothing on TV. There doesn't seem to be any problem getting in andout of Rez. There are State Police off the Rez near the main entry roads.Most of the Native American people seem to think all this is a pain in the a**, but seem pretty unconcerned. Go figure.
